Morrison's Birthday Party - A Feature Film
Morrison's Birthday Party was shot in the Zogma style breaking down rules of narrative, character and story. A truly adventurous and ambitious project embracing the actor as creator.
This experimental feature film project certainly lives by the spirit of Frame On Frame's moto,
"ideas won't keep something must be done about them."
With just 9 days pre production, multiple cameras, a party, a story and guests in 90 minutes we had made a feature film!
We started off wanting to throw a party to celebrate all the work done in the past year to thank all the talented people we had collaborated with. But what do you do when you have so many talented people in one place?? The temptation to turn it into a film was too much and thankfully our guests were all eager to play along and the party was more popular than ever. So what started out as a gathering of a few friends and colleagues ended up as a mad hatters tea party with songs, wine, go go girls, fire and martial art displays and psychic visions. We had a total of six cameras running simultaneously, 25 guests plus entertainment.
The setting for the story is a birthday party for Morrison, a wealthy tea merchant in his 70th year. Morrison has thrown a lavish party and invited all his loved ones to celebrate with him. As the evening unfolds, secrets are revealed and conflicts develop amidst the beauty of an English country garden on a mid summer night.
Frame On Frame wishes to thank everyone who took part and hope you all had as much fun as we did. Morrison's Birthday Party was a true success due to the enthusiasm of all who took part, it's a celebration of collaboration and independent film making.

Babbage is a short film that introduces us to the
inventor and prolific thinker Charles Babbage, a
man both famous for inventing the first computer
and failing to build it. The film takes place at a
dinner somewhere in the early Victorian period.
Babbage introduces the guests to us one by one,
each playing a significant role in the colourful
life of our host. The conversation ranges from
topical debate to pleasant reminiscences until we
are plunged into Babbage's isolation and despair as
he reveals to the audience that the guests are
fragmented memories of those he loved and lost,
many of them never met, never spoke.
Babbage's final chapter is one of solitude and
perceived failure, an uncelebrated genius who
deserves a place in history.
